Equipment List
Weather at Camp can be hot during the day, always chilly at night and may
have occasional rainstorms. This past winter brought record levels of snow.
Campers spend the whole time outdoors so clothes will get dirty. Laundry is
done by hand.

Please label everything clearly with your Camper's name. This includes socks.
Camp Unalayee cannot be responsible for lost or misplaced items.

Don't forget money for on the bus ride to and from camp.

No electronics, please! iPods, MP3 players, Ninetendo DS and other handheld
gaming consoles, etc., are not allowed at Camp. If they are brought for use on
the bus, while at Camp they will be stored in a secure lock box.

Shoes
Important! Hiking is a part of Camp Unalayee. Please bring good quality
shoes and boots. We especially emphasize this for 2010 sessions, as the past
winter brought record snowfall and the terrain may be wet .

  • 1 pair light or medium weight hiking boots
    (break boots in)
  • 3+ pairs heavy wool or synthetic socks
  • 6-12 pairs cotton or liner socks (please, label)
  • 1 or 2 pairs tennis shoes

No sandals are allowed.

Clothing (Think "15 days".)

  • Rain Gear - 1 waterproof nylon parka or poncho is essential
  • 1 warm Jacket
  • 1- 2 Sweaters or Sweatshirts -- a fleece, wool, or synthetic is
    preferred in case of rain
  • 2+ pairs long pants -- one should be sweats, fleece or other
    non-jeans
  • 3 pairs Shorts
  • Swim Suit
  • 2 - 3 Long sleeved shirt -- poly pro or sythetic long underwear is
    great
  • 10-15 changes of underwear
  • 6 T-shirts /tank-tops
  • Hat (A sun hat & warm hat are both useful.)

Camping Equipment

  • Duffle bag or suitcase
  • Ground Cloth -- Nylon or Plastic Sheet 7' by 4'
  • Sleeping Bag w/ Stuff Sack**
  • Pad --Thermarest, Ensolite or similar sleeping pad**
  • Backpack**
  • Flashlight w/ extra batteries
  • Plastic or Metal Bowl and Cup - No 'Mess Kits' please
  • Silverware (Knife, Fork & Soup Spoon)
  • 2 Water bottles -- any type if bottle 16 to 32 ounces
  • Sunglasses
  • 50 - 100 feet nylon cord

** Camp has a limited amount of equipment to loan out to campers who
need them. Please contact the camp office for more information.

Toiletries/Personal

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste,
    floss, etc.
  • Sunscreen *IMPORTANT
    Lots of sun!
  • Hair Brush or Comb
  • Lip Protection & lotion (the
    air is dry)
  • Bug Repellent - NON-
    AEROSOL
  • Bathing, swim towel
